2012 TVS Apache RTR 180 vs Bajaj Pulsar 180 the Race for Superiority


TVS and Bajaj Auto are one of the oldest two manufacturing companies in India. Both these companies have reached new heights of success with their work. These two companies have grown strength by strength. These companies not only gained good name and fame in India but also have spread their expertise to other nations. Both these companies have superior quality bike in their armory and it will be slightly tricky to pick the best among these two legendary two wheeler manufacturers. Bajaj auto has slight edge over TVS, as this company has more variants in its armory than TVS. Bajaj has been producing premium segment bikes under pulsar series and similarly TVS has also been producing high powered motorcycles under Apache series. To get a better picture between two, let’s make a comparison between Bajaj Pulsar 180 and TVS Apache RTR 180.








Starting with the looks, Bajaj Pulsar 180  has slightly superior looks in comparison with TVS Apache RTR 180. Bajaj Pulsar 180 is fitted with 180 DTSi engine and TVS Apache with RTR 180 engine. Both these vehicles come with electric start option as well as manual kick start option, and both these vehicles are fitted with four stroke engine with single cylinder. Bajaj Pulsar 180 has 180 cc engine displacements whereas TVS Apache RTR 180 sports only  177.4 cc which is marginally less in comparison with Pulsar 180. TVS Apache RTR 180 has the ability to produce 17.3 BHP at 8500 RPM and can produce a maximum torque of 15.5 NM at 6500 RPM. Pulsar 180 e ngine has the potential to produce a max power of 16.5 BHP at 8000 RPM and exert a peak torque of 15.22 NM at 6000 RPM. If we look at Bajaj Pulsar 180 reviews, this vehicle has gained the recognition of being more fuel efficient and price efficient bike in comparison with TVS Apache price.





If we look at 2012 TVS Apache price, this is priced at Rs. 66,000 which is marginally lower in comparison to Bajaj Pulsar 180 price, which is Rs. 64,237 (Both prices ex-showroom New Delhi). If we checkout TVS Apache RTR 180 reviews, this vehicle is equally good, and could compete with any premium segment vehicle. Apache RTR 180 is fitted with disc brakes in both front and rear end, whereas in Pulsar 180 it has disc brakes fitted only on the front end.  When we compare this vehicle with Pulsar 180, Bajaj pulsar has slightly and added advantage which is the proud lineage that it is a part of.
