The Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd known as the leading Japanese manufacturer has launched in the Ray in September last year. Recently, it has unveiled its second scooter offering for the Indian market and named it as Yamaha Ray Z India. Yamaha Bikes claims that the scooter is mainly targeted to the young male users. Mr. Hiroyuki Yanagi, President and CEO has stated that it is a new scooter with the new brand slogan Revs your Heart. With the new brand statement “Empowered by a passion for innovation, the company is expected to create exceptional value and experiences which satisfy the needs of customers. He also added that the Japanese manufacturer is expecting a good market share with this new brand slogan and brand statement. It has a sporty look and the consumers will feel with a smoked-finish visor for a motorcycle-like image
For this new scooter, the company adopts the same air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine with the all new CVT (Continuous variable transmission) technology. This engine is capable to deliver smooth start-up acceleration and capable to generate a maximum power of 7.1 PS at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 8.1 Nm at 5000 rpm. The new version scooter runs on V-belt automatic transmission and it claims a an impressive mileage of 53 kmpl under standard conditions. Internally, there are some mechanical changes and they includes an aluminum rear wing-shaped tandem rider grab-bars. It is packed with all new instrument panel with a carbon fiber patterned background. The new Z version features some modifications like carbon fiber patterned seat cover material. The Yamaha Ray Z price in India is placed at INR. 48,555.
