TVS bikes, which are struggling in the Indian bike arena these days, are all set to taste success once again with their latest two-wheeler, which is going to be unveiled by TVS Motors. TVS Apache RTR 250 is slated to be launched in early 2014. This is the result of a partnership between TVS and the famous German two-wheeler manufacturer, BMW Motorrad. This partnership will help develop the performance of TVS’ motorcycles. TVS Apache RTR 250 houses an oil-cooled, 4-valve engine which has a displacement of 250 cc. Its four-stroke and twin-cylinder engine cranks off the utmost power output of 30 Bhp at 9500 rpm and the peak torque production of this engine is 22 Nm which comes at 8000 rpm. All the power is sent to the back wheel via a belt to a six-speed manual gearbox which has one gear down and the rest of the gears on an up shift-pattern with easy and fluid gear-shifting. In terms of mileage, the all new TVS Apache RTR 250 delivers 30 kmpl in city conditions and on wider roads such as highways, it scoops out a mileage of 35 kmpl-40 kmpl. The fuel consumption will be considered decent.
Its price is one of its key features as it fits into a very competent and affordable price bracket of Rs. 1,30,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The cost of the bike has been laid down by TVS to keep it affordable, bearing price-conscious buyers of the nation in mind. The features of the TVS Apache RTR 250 include a very impressive suspension structure. The front is loaded with telescopic forks, whereas at the bottom it features gas shock and a rectangular swing-arm for a bump-free ride which is wonderful to ride on the outskirts of the city. The speed of this bike is amazing as it claims to get an agitating speed of 150 kmph and it also clears the speed of 0-100 kmph in a quick time of under 5 seconds. Such choleric speed can only be kept under control by a stout braking set-up. The front shows a 290 mm disc brake whereas at the rear, it has 220 mm disc brakes with ABS technology to hold the speed effectively. Its pictures reveal a ravishing design which is a piece of great innovation and imagination. Its front portions are quite sleek and aid aerodynamics. The headlight and curved corners give it a muscular look. This sports bike is going to be available in four vibrant shades—white, grey, yellow and black.
