Mahindra & Mahindra, the Indian automobile manufacturing unit launched a scooter bike called Mahindra Duro. This scooter bike was launched in the year 2009-10 amidst much craze and had decent following since it release. The bike had reasonable sales since it was released into the market. The design of the bike that was most impressive and attracted people of all age groups. India Design Mark prize is awarded by the India Design Council which is an autonomous body established by the support of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and recognizing good design through a systematic evaluation process.
India Design Council awards the best design bikes with the Indian Design Mark which symbolizes excellence in form, quality, function, safety, sustainability and innovation and declares that the product is usable, durable, aesthetically appealing. This prestigious award by India Design Council will enhance its image as a production unit and encourages it to bring out something more of unique kind. Looking at its features and specifications, the bike sports a superb look with some outstanding key elements that will impress the rider. Mahindra Duro pictures a pleasant look from the front end. The riding experience is also quite fabulous with the suspensions being excellently designed that offers nice cushion on bumpy roads.
Mahindra Duro features a well equipped 125cc DI engine. The engine provides great pick-up and acceleration to the bike that can run through the roads quickly. The pick-up and acceleration powers the bike that churns out a maximum power of 8.1 kW at 7100RPM and a maximum torque of 9.0 Nm at 5500RPM.The mileage of the bike is excellent at 55Kmpl with the use of Advanced Dual Curve Digital Ignition Engine which auto-adjusts according to the load on the scooter, thereby optimizing the fuel consumption. The fuel capacity of the bike is 6.5 liters. The console has a brilliant display that indicates the speedometer and odometer.
The color variants of the bike are Royal Purple, Derby Red, Pearl White, Fiery Black, Mystic Green. Mahindra Duro price is currently at 46,200. Another bike from Mahindra – Mahindra Rodeo – also received the award for the best design feature. On this occasion, Mahindra bikes spokesperson said that they are thrilled to receive the award and to get it for two bikes is an outstanding achievement. Lets us hope that every bike manufacturing unit comes with something innovative and makes it a really tough competition for the council next time.
