Bajaj Auto Limited (BAL) is second largest manufacturer of motorcycles in India by volume. Bajaj revolutionized the Indian motorcycle market by launching Pulsar series a decade ago, since then Bajaj has sold millions of units of motorcycles in India and other nations across the globe. Bajaj bikes are known for their styling and reliability. Bajaj Auto has many different bikes in its line up which range from commuters to cruisers. Bajaj introduced Boxer in year 2000 which was a light commuter segment bike with engine capacity of 100 cc. Bajaj Boxer was quite successful in Indian market but later it was discontinued and it was then replaced by another commuter bike of 100 cc known as Bajaj CT 100.
Last year Bajaj launched a new variant123abc of Boxer with engine capacity of 150 cc by the BM Boxer 150 but recently Bajaj has discontinued its production. Bajaj Boxer BM150 was meant for rural areas. Bajaj Boxer BM150 looks very basic, it looks very much similar to bikes of 80's era. It was the product for population of Indian villages and towns which does not good looks or extra frills, bike looks rugged which easily handle bad roads of Indian villages. Bike has very simple tank design, spoke wheels, flat seat and bike is almost built of metal parts with very little plastic parts. The Bajaj Boxer BM150 features 144.8 cc, 4 – stroke, single cylinder, air cooled DTSi (Digital twin spark ignition) engine. This 144.8 cc engine produces maximum power of 12.01 Ps at 7500 rpm and produces maximum torque of 12.26 Nm at 5000 rpm and this engine comes mated with a 4 – speed manual gear box with all down configuration. Bajaj Boxer BM150 comes with both kick start and electric start as standard.
Overall dimensions of bike are 2016 mm x 740 mm x 1055 mm (Overall length x width x height). Braking duties of bike are handled by 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear. Wheelbase of Boxer BM150 is 1285 mm and has ground clearance 190 mm. Bike has kerb weight of 123 kilograms. Bike was equipped with decent electricals which include 12 V / 2.5 Ah battery, head lamp of 35 / 35 W and tail lamp of 5 / 21 W. Bajaj Boxer BM150 pictures reveal about its simple looks.
