Hero Bikes To Get New Engines From Next Year

It has been a couple of years since the joint venture between Hero MotoCrop and Honda Motor corporations was dissolved. But until now, the Indian two-wheeler major had been using the engines that were developed by Honda. This contract is expected to expire in 2014 and there was a huge question mark on what the company will do. During the times of the joint venture, Honda brought in all the research and development and technical strengths to the table. After the separation, the Indian company has started to invest in some research and development. The company has plans to set up a new R&D plant in Kukas, Rajasthan. The motor corporation is also consolidating its engineering position through collaborations. The company has already made some tie-ups with AVL Engineering (Austria based engine developer), EBR (Erik Buell Racing based on US) and Engines Engineering of Italy. In addition to tie-ups, the Delhi based Indian Motor Corporation has bought 49% stake in EBR.

Hero Motocorp Splendor

Currently, Hero Splendor price in Mumbai Showrooms are quoted at around Rs. 45865 for the spoke model. There has been no news on how the new engines will affect the pricing of the different models. But we can expect a similar or lower price on the bikes fitted with new engines next year. Hero Splendor pictures are attractive and we can see new body graphics on the bike. We can also see the stylish head lights and the alloy wheels from the pictures. But the alloy wheels are available only in higher variants. The most impressive Hero Splendor Features that have worked for the two-wheelers are its affordable price tag and a solid body. The new engines are expected to add great fuel efficiency and engine performance to the bikes.

The three engines that have been developed now are 100 cc, 110 cc and 250cc. The 100 cc engine is a vertical engine and will be manufactured for export to Nigerian market. The 100 cc Honda engine is the most used engine in the line-up of commuter motor-cycles for now. According to Mr. Pawan Munjal, the MD and CEO of Hero Motor Corporation, the new 110 cc engine will be fitted in most of the mass commuter bikes including the highly successful Hero Splendor and Hero Passion. The new Karizma ZMR 250 model might be fitted with the new 250 cc engine. This two-wheeler is expected to be showcased in the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. The new models of commuter bikes like Splendor and Passion with proprietary engines will be available in the showrooms in a year’s time, around the 2014 festive season. Hero has unveiled the Karizma ZMR features and here the review about features of bike.
