It’s finally here! The KTM 390 Duke, One of the much-awaited motorcycles has been launched in India at an incredible price tag of Rs 1.80 lakh (Ex-Showroom, New Delhi). Official bookings for the bike will be commenced from the 26th of June, 2013. The Duke 390 is the second KTM motorcycle to be sold in India. The bike is a naked type bike with attractive looks and gives you superb performance. The KTM 390 Duke is the first model of KTM bike is going to be sold across the entire 76 country markets.
The KTM 390 Duke is powered by a 373.2cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled motor. It combines 43.5 bhk (break horse power) of peak power, 35 Nm (Newton metre) of torque at 7000rpm. It gives an approx average of 22-25 kmpl. The 390 Duke, at 373.2cc would be the first mid-size sports bike in India. This bike will be sold and serviced exclusively at 71 KTM bikes showrooms (formerly known as Bajaj Pro-biking outlets), which are managed by Bajaj Auto. It has wheelbase of 1367mm gives stability to the bike while its high ground clearance of 170mm improves its off road ability.
KTM Duke 390 features are like ABS developed by German auto-parts maker Bosch, can be switched on and off by the rider, Metzeler tyres, aluminium swing-arm, aluminium alloy wheels, 300mm disc brakes up front, six-speed transmission, fuel tank capacity of 10.2 litres and a 230mm disc at the rear. The eagerly awaited bike from Austrian off-road motorcycle specialist KTM 390 Duke is considered as the upgraded version of the 200 Duke as it keeps most of the external components same as the 200 Duke. It has a square shaped orange coloured LCD which displays its digital speedometer, odometer, tachometer, 2-trip meter and fuel gauge.
Addressing on the occasion, Amit Nandi, vice-president, Bajaj Pro-biking said, “With its powerful engine, light weight and easy handling, the 390 Duke will be equally rewarding for both, the professional rider as well as the enthusiasts.
For now, This bike is available in one variant only - 390 Duke ABS. It is available in only white shade. It is expected that KTM would introduce 390 Duke in orange and black shades also in near future. The claimed top speed of the bike is 160 Kph. By KTM Duke 390 pictures it looks like earlier launched KTM 200 Duke. The bike would be built at Bajaj Auto's Chakan factory off Pune, the Duke 390 is a global motorcycle model that will be sold in both developed as well as emerging motorcycle markets across the world. In India, Bajaj Auto and KTM expect a large number of sports motorcycle riders, who ride bikes such as the Honda CBR250R. The KTM Duke 390 price tag is aggressive and the bike will certainly impress Indian buyers. This year, Bajaj Auto expected to sell 12,000 units in India.
