Yamaha Ray will carry a 4-stroke, air-cooled SOHC engine

Booking are opened for the new Yamaha Ray. Recently, Yamaha bikes has announced a new scooter during the Auto Expo which was held earlier this year. The company has recently started its bookings and expecting two months pre booking by the time of its launch date. The stylish Ray was mainly targeted towards the young, urban women and college goers. The top leading bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has signed as the brand ambassador for this charming scooter. Currently, the two wheeler has clocked around 5,000 bookings in just 10 days with a down payment of Rs 5,000-10,000 across our dealer network. With its impressive design and technology, the scooter is getting overwhelming response especially from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and southern markets including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The new Yamaha Ray price is expected to be placed in the Rs 45,000 to 50,000 range.

Currently, the Japanese auto giant has also launched a new campaign named as 'a guess and win contest' where the consumer has a chance to win a Ray by just guessing the correct showroom price at which the scooter will be launched. With its impressive styling, the gearless scooter is expected to have competition with Honda Activa, Suzuki Acess, Mahindra Duro and Hero Maestro in this segment. The company will be producing the gearless scooter at Yamaha's Surajput plant in Uttar Pradesh, which has installed capacity of 600,000 two wheelers per annum. The Yamaha Ray features with a 113cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled SOHC engine which will produce around 8 BHP of peak power at 8000 RPM and around 8.62 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. he two wheeler is capable to deliver a average fuel efficiency of between 40 and 45 kilometres per litre for city roads and up to 50 kilometres per litre for highway driving.

The 125 cc gearless scooter is expected to be launched in two variants like one of which will feature drum brakes on the front and rear, and one of which will feature disc brakes at the front and drum brakes the rear. The scooter will feature a telescopic front suspension to ensure a bump free driving to the riders.
