Yamaha Ray A Gearless Scooter for M\Female


Yamaha started its operations in Indian market almost three decades back, it used to sell two stroke bikes in India which became a huge hit in India. Some of the well known two strokes were Yamaha RX 100, Yamaha RX 135 etc, these bikes sold in huge numbers. With new introduction of  new emission norms, 2 – stroke bikes vanished from Indian roads. Yamaha re-entered in Indian market with a whole new range of Yamaha bikes like YZF R 15, Yamaha FZ 16, and Yamaha Fazer 160 in year 2008, this range of sports bikes attracted huge number of bikers which boosted it sales and Yamaha is now leader in sports bike segment in India. There are number of brands present in Indian market which manufacture scooters like Honda, Bajaj and TVS etc. Yamaha has entered in scooter market in India with introduction of Yamaha Ray. Yamaha Ray features a 113 cc, 4 – stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine which produces maximum power of 7 HP at 7500 RPM and maximum torque of 8.1 Nm at 5000 RPM, Ray is a light weight scooter and weights 104 kilo grams and reaches speed of 60 km / hr easily but it struggles after 75 km / hr. Throttle is response of this scooter is quite good and ride quality is smooth. Bottom end torque is excellent which give it a good pick up and has average mid range torque. It is very good for daily commuting purposes in city limits and has very impressive fuel efficiency as well.

Handling of Yamaha Ray is quite easy, it comes with standard 90 x 100 tires with 10 inch wheels which provide excellent grip. It is equipped with telescopic forks in front which makes riding very comfortable. Braking of Yamaha Ray is efficient, it is equipped with 130 mm in front and rear, it remains very stable on high speeds and experiences very low wind blast.

The Yamaha company has created a niche by targeting women for its Ray. Yamaha Ray Pictures reveal everything about its sporty looks, this scooter is available in six vibrant color combinations of Pink, Purple, Blue, Burgundy, Grey and Black. Yamaha Ray features a triangular instrument cluster which includes an analog speedo - meter with a trip meter in middle and below the speedo - meter fuel gauge is present. Yamaha Ray price in india is Rs. 55000 on the road ex – Mumbai, prices may vary from state to state. Although this is Yamaha's first attempt in scooter segment but it is a good package at this price.
